Group Accountant

Key responsibilities

Financial reporting:

• Assist with consolidation and standalone financial statements for the Group in accordance with IFRS
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
• Produce detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends, variances and areas for improvement

Bookkeeping:

• Prepare and maintain quarterly balance sheet schedules, including Fixed Asset Register, prepayment schedule, loan schedule and lease schedules
• Prepare and post ad hoc journal entries relating to carbon credit sales, revenue recognition and related project costs in accordance with IFRS
• Ensure accurate account coding and proper classification of transactions to maintain the integrity of the general ledger
• Review subsidiary accounts on an ongoing basis

Team management:

• Support accountants in Del Agua's operating countries with bookkeeping and guidance
• Oversee and evaluate individual accountant performance and contribute to performance reviews
• Assist the Accounting and Finance Manager in training junior accountants
• Mentor junior finance staff on financial processes and best practices

Compliance and audit:

• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations
• Assist the CFO and Accounting and Finance Manager with external audit requests
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy
• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
