The Accounting Manager supports the organization’s day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and providing timely support for budgeting, audits, and reporting requirements.
How You Will Contribute- Process accounts payable transactions, including checks, ACH payments, electronic payments, and employee expense reimbursements.
- Monitor outstanding payables and assist with cash flow tracking and analysis.
- Prepare and record bank deposits and track incoming payments.
- Reconcile multiple bank and credit card accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Review and verify electronic payment activity and vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding.
- Record transactional data in the general ledger and maintain organized supporting documentation.
- Prepare and analyze general ledger reports and other financial reports for management review.
- Reconcile prepaid and clearing accounts and maintain reconciliation schedules.
- Maintain monthly reporting schedules, job code tracking, and internal accounting worksheets.
- Assist with annual information reporting requirements, including 1099 preparation and compliance.
- Support budgeting processes, audit preparation, and internal control activities.
- Review and process recurring vendor expenses, including insurance, benefits, and telecommunications.
- Participate in special accounting, finance, and banking projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Direct experience with Sage Intacct accounting software a plus.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, and reach overhead during events.
- Spend significant time sitting at a desk working at a computer; manual dexterity required for keyboarding.
- Office environment is well-lit, heated, air-conditioned, and ventilated.
- During events, standing and walking are required approximately 25% of the time.
