Overview

The City of Iowa Colony, Texas, is a rapidly growing community located approximately 25 miles south of Downtown Houston along Highway 288. This is a full-time, on-site role for a Finance Director, located in Iowa Colony, TX. The Finance Director will oversee all financial operations of the city, including budget development, financial planning, accounting, and reporting. The role involves managing city financial records, preparing financial reports, overseeing audits, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and collaborating with other departments to develop fiscally responsible strategies that align with the city’s goals.

• Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and accounting principles
• Skills in financial reporting, auditing processes, and regulatory compliance
• Proficiency in strategic planning, decision-making, and resource management
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively lead and manage teams while fostering collaboration
• Proficiency in financial software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master s degree or CPA designation preferred)
• Proven experience in municipal finance or public sector financial management is highly desirable
