Staff Accountant

Location: Spring

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial processes, analyzing data, and driving process improvements while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify trends and actionable insights.

- Reconcile intercompany transactions and maintain consistency across entities.

- Oversee general ledger activities, insurance policies, budgeting processes, and internal controls.

- Supervise the Credit/Accounts Receivable Analyst to ensure smooth operations.

- Maintain fixed asset records, prepare depreciation schedules, and post related journal entries.

- Analyze inventory reports and propose enhancements for efficiency.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.

- Collaborate with colleagues and business partners to provide exceptional support. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.

- Proficiency in month-end close procedures, variance analysis, and intercompany transactions.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, journal entries, general ledger, budgeting, and internal controls.

- Experience with financial reporting and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

- Detail-oriented and proactive with a focus on continuous improvement.
