This employee performs general operational/maintenance work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, makes repairs, assists with the laboratory work and processes record keeping.
DutiesThe duties are but not excluded to:
- Maintenance and repair of all WWTP equipment
- Sampling and analysis of wastewater
- Preparation of records and reports
- Keeping vehicles, storage area and equipment clean and in safe and orderly working condition.
- Lifts and carries up to 100 pounds, pushes, pulls or drags up to 150 pounds while performing job duties.
- Sits, stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, squats, stoops and twists for extended periods of time.
- Works outdoors in extreme temperatures including heat, cold and temperature swings and inclement weather.
- Exposure to dust, odors, mechanical and toxic hazards.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with the public and other City employees.
- Performs other tasks as directed.
Work schedule is typically five (5) days per week, forty (40) hours, with rotational weekend basis, as required. Must be able to work holidays, after hours or during emergency situations as required.
Requirements- Must have Texas Motor Vehicle Operators License and High School Diploma or GED.
- Must reside within 20 miles of downtown Brady, have an active telephone or cell phone.
- Must be able to obtain Class C Wastewater Treatment Certification issued by TCEQ, within 1 year of hire. Preferred Class B Wastewater Treatment Certification. Pay dependent on certifications held.
- Class C Certification pay range: $21.23 - $25.37
- Class B Certification pay range: $25.50 - $30.46.
