This position will cover sites located in Montgomery (zip code 77318) and Orange Counties (zip code 77630) in Texas. Candidates must be living within a 50‑mile radius of these facilities or be open to moving to the area. The role will also support two sites in Louisiana as needed.

Role Overview

This position is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the Dedicated Controls Engineer (DCE) role, including coordination of Mitsubishi Power resources required for successful DCE contract execution. The DCE is a mid‑level engineer experienced in the Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine controls field and must meet all Turbine Controls Engineer Level II requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and comply with all contract requirements and the DCE responsibilities outlined in the contract.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of Mitsubishi Power control systems.
  • Prior experience with Netmation and/or Ovation control systems is considered a plus.
  • Supervise subcontractor work on Mitsubishi Power instrumentation and improvement projects.
  • Connect all temporary monitoring equipment such as CABS, CASS, and CPFM.
  • Provide start‑up commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting support; determine root causes and implement solutions.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports on conditions, required actions, and results.
  • Travel to customer plant sites to plan outage requirements, provide technical direction, and meet with customers on all contract issues.
  • Work with the LTSA Program Manager to understand and follow the history of parts in the units, including hours, starts, and remaining life.
  • Serve as a focal point for resolution of technical issues, tracking and resolving issues within the Netmation control system and ancillary systems, including warranty issues.
  • Provide project administration, including documentation of warranty issues.
  • Calibrate field devices as required.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

  • Travel (approximately 10%) for trainings, conferences, etc., by land and/or air.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Engineering from a four‑year college or university plus two (2) years’ experience; or at least four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Instrumentation and Controls Systems experience and gas turbine operation familiarization is required. Power industry experience preferred.
  • Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle multiple abstract and concrete variables.
