Position Overview:
- The Project Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating costs as well as verifying other estimates associated with flushing projects. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive estimates that meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
- Coordinate client calls to gather information necessary for estimating purposes.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs, utilizing estimating software and databases.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Assisting in the preparation of bid packages, including compiling all necessary documentation, completing bid forms, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules based on estimated costs and timelines.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project estimates, budgets, and cost projections to stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, materials, and pricing to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimating practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, an equivalent degree or experience in a relatable field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in the mechanical or other fields.
- Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with estimating software
- Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credentials are a plus.
