Scope

Mechanical Technician III

Main Functions

Technicians are assigned to carry out mechanical maintenance work in support of operations. This role supports safe, reliable execution of maintenance activities and typically reports to a Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Mechanical Engineers in planning, testing, and execution of mechanical work on components and equipment (engines, pumps, instruments, controls, machinery, etc.)
  • Review job packs and participate in work planning activities
  • Identify safety concerns associated with assigned work and ensure mitigation prior to execution
  • Actively participate in all on-the-job safety tools and procedures
  • Execute maintenance work in accordance with approved plans and schedules
  • Record technical history and work execution details in Global Reliability Tool (GRT) and related systems
  • Provide feedback on job pack quality and improvement opportunities to Execution FLS
  • Request required permits and notify Supervisor if permits cannot be issued within 30 minutes of request
  • Assist with preparation of proposals and cost estimates as needed
Skills and Qualifications
  • Discipline-appropriate certifications or equivalent professional experience
  • 5–10 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Instrument air systems
    • Pumps and rotating equipment
  • Experience using computerized maintenance systems (WMS, Permit Vision)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend corrective actions
  • Team-oriented mindset with ability to work effectively without direct authority
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
