Job SummaryThe Pro Operator will perform all duties under ROC Operator/ Production Foreman direction, necessary to maintain target productions rates from lease oil and gas wells by employing industry and/or Murphy approved practices and procedures. The Pro Operator will be a member of the Onshore Operations Team in Jourdanton, TX.
Responsibilities- Thoroughly understands the current standard operating procedures and is able to contribute to the creation/updating of standard operating procedures as needed.
- Ensures safe work practices are followed at facility and well locations, including conformance to the Permit to Work program (PTW), utilization of a Job Site analysis (JSA), LOTO, and exercising the Stop Work Authority when necessary.
- Execute SAP WO s & IOP tasks in an efficient manner.
- Utilizes SAP Prometheus to confirm WO completion.
- Request Maintenance work by utilizing SAP notification system.
- Monitors and performs necessary repairs to chemical injection equipment.
- Able to lead troubleshooting procedures, along with the ability to communicate equipment specific design parameters and how they relate to overall facility performance, to obtain maximum efficiency and ensure proper maintenance.
- Responsible for maintaining all lease records necessary for production accounting, regulatory compliance, personnel safety, equipment maintenance and material movements.
- Approves the requisition of supplies, as necessary, and monitors inventory of material on hand.
- Monitors, records, and witness s custody transfer of hydrocarbons to sales, and verifies all necessary information pertaining to the transfer.
- Acts as the Murphy representative for on‑lease activities such as fluid transfers, construction and repair projects performed by sub‑contractors.
- Reports all accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor.
- Performs any other job‑related duties assigned by an immediate supervisor.
- Valid driver s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in oil & gas field
- Must thoroughly understand and be able to mentor others on how to operate and maintain oil and gas handling facilities including field separation and storage of hydrocarbons, gas dehydration, water injection and amine treatment (as applicable).
- Able to communicate the working design and operation of wellhead and associated well site components such as wellhead valves, Safety Shutdown Valves, Safety Systems, Gas Lift, Pump Jack Operation, and Allocation Equipment.
- Able to communicate the design principals and operation of production process equipment such as liquid and gas separation equipment, gas treating equipment. Knows how the various processes interact and can trouble shoot production upsets quickly to keep the facility in safe operating conditions
- The successful candidate will live within 70-miles of Jourdanton, TX
Physical requirements typically include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and wearing various personal protective equipment (PPE) in extreme variations of temperature year‑round. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
