Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for an Engineer Systems Test (26-007) to join our talented and diverse team. Based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position OverviewThe Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2
BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities and serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2
BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate current and future missile defense system capabilities.
The System Test Team plans and analyzes all MDS ground and flight tests in which the C2
BMC program participates. Ground test types include pairwise tests, CDI, GTI, GTD, cyber tests, SDA, and pre-flight HWIL test efforts. Flight tests are conducted with pre-determined sensors and shooters. International events comprise various ground and flight tests.
- Planning of all assigned test events, with emphasis on developing and implementing the test artifacts required for each event: test objectives, architecture, data item descriptions, defense designs, sensor resource management settings, Operational Tasking Data Link (OPTASKLINK), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI) configuration and Forwarding Tables, CDS, TDACS, TRAUT TDACS, Comms Connectivity Matrices, Event Configuration Baseline (ECB).
- System Adjustable Parameters (SAPs)/Site-Specific Parameters (SSPs).
- BDR and PR applicability.
- Certification Data Packages.
- Support planning phase reviews and meetings.
- Support customer boards and meetings.
- Support Data Management.
- Interface with developers.
- Support government personnel during event execution phases when requested.
- Support anomaly resolution and troubleshooting.
- Support analysis group.
- Support Failure Review Boards (FRBs).
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field) from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a STEM-related field with 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs.
- Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering is highly preferred.
- Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).

Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF). - Self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with the government customer and with personnel internal and external to the program.
- Prior experience on the C2
BMC program in any capacity preferred. - Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks.
- Prior integration and test experience within the C2
BMC program.
