Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is to implement, manage, and maintain the EHS programs at the site level. This role ensures all site operations comply with global EHS policies, procedures, and local regulations. The Site EHS Specialist will conduct regular inspections, oversee training programs, and address any EHS‑related issues to promote a safe and compliant working environment.
EssentialDuties
- Implements and manages global EHS programs and training protocols at the site level.
- Ensures all site‑specific EHS activities and procedures align with global policies and local regulations.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Maintains up‑to‑date records related to EHS compliance, including inspections, incidents, and training.
- Conducts site‑specific EHS training sessions and drills based on global training protocols.
- Ensures all site personnel are trained on EHS procedures and emergency response plans.
- Performs regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and non‑compliance issues.
- Assists in internal and external EHS audits and inspections.
- Reports incidents and near misses to the Global EHS Manager and maintains documentation.
- Prepares and submits regular reports on site EHS performance, issues, and compliance to site management and global EHS teams.
- Assists with developing and maintaining site emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinates and participates in emergency drills and ensures readiness for emergencies.
- Promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement, in partnership with site leadership team, by identifying and recommending enhancements to EHS practices and programs.
- Keeps abreast of changes in EHS regulations and best practices while incorporating them into site EHS programs.

- High School Diploma/GED
- 3–5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a site‑based setting
- Strong knowledge of local and global EHS regulations and standards
- Demonstrates proficiency in conducting thorough inspections and investigations
- Intermediate experience utilizing computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with EHS software and documentation practices
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills; ability to multi‑task and manage priorities efficiently
- Strong commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment
- Proactive “self‑starter” with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address EHS issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of adapting to changes in regulations and site‑specific needs
- Experience working in a fast‑paced and high‑volume work environment
- Ability to satisfactorily complete OSHA 10 course within first 90 days of employment
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees at all levels, including executive leadership
- Valid Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- OSHA, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar certification
- Experience with regulatory compliance and EHS program implementation
Consistent interaction with other hourly production/distribution team members, management, and human resources.
Working Conditions and Physical DemandsThis position works in an office setting (heated and cooled) within a distribution or manufacturing environment with minimal temperature control. Frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat. Work environment is often loud, dusty, and/or dirty.
