Safety Health and Environmental Manager
Location:
Waco, TX area
Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
A leading manufacturing facility in the Waco, TX area is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all aspects of environmental health and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OSHA regulations, workplace safety, environmental standards, and safety training—especially within heavy manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage all site‑specific environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct safety orientations for new hires and provide ongoing safety training for existing employees.
- Perform routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training logs, OSHA logs, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with plant leadership and supervisors to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections and audits.
- Ensure safety equipment and emergency response protocols are maintained and up to date.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (steel fabrication experience strongly preferred).
- Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental compliance, and workplace safety regulations.
- Proven experience conducting safety training and leading investigations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage and train employees at all levels.
- Professional certifications such as OSHA 30‑Hour, CHST, CSP, or similar are a plus.
