Sr Electrical and Controls Engineer

The Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, component selection, procurement support, installation supervision, and testing of electrical equipment in integrated pumping systems, as well as controls design and PLC application for those systems.

• Lead electrical and controls system design for modular products, ensuring compliance with NEC, IEC, and local codes.
• Create and review technical documentation including one‑line diagrams, schematics, load lists, and Bills of Material using AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Collaborate across teams—manufacturing, purchasing, vendors, and clients—to align designs with project and production requirements.
• Support project lifecycle activities such as bidding, cost estimation, proposal generation, and commissioning.
• Review and approve submittals and RFIs, and provide technical responses to stakeholders and inspectors.
• Develop and maintain internal design standards, tools, and templates; implement industry best practices.
• Manage control systems including PLC‑based and fixed I/O systems, and support factory testing and field troubleshooting.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance product design, manufacturability, and serviceability.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years’ experience in electrical and/or controls system application, design, and manufacturing.
• Experience in pumping systems, preferably with a pump manufacturer.
• Strong expertise in electrical systems, including installation, low/medium voltage, and compliance with NEC, UL, and NEMA standards.
• Advanced proficiency in PLC and controls technology, including programming, diagnostics, and application design.
• Skilled interpreting specifications and using design tools such as AutoCAD, SAP (ERP), and product sizing software.
• Effective communicator and collaborator with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders.
• Highly organized and accountable, capable of managing multiple priorities independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to operate daily out of the Waller, TX facility in a hybrid role; relocation is not supported and candidates must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Salary range: $87,312 to $137,996. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range is one component of Peerless’ total compensation and benefits package, which includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and an employee stock purchase program.
