Position Specific Description
This Solar Utility Technician Leader will oversee vegetation management operations across multiple solar generation sites in the Central Texas region around Waco.
The primary responsibility is to lead a team of technicians in executing vegetation control programs designed to minimize Availability Loss Factor (ALF) impacts. This leader position will be actively engaged in hands‑on vegetation maintenance activities—including operating mowers, tractors, and other cutting equipment—while simultaneously providing leadership and direction to the team. This role requires regular travel between multiple solar sites to conduct field inspections, identify vegetation concerns, and develop site‑specific maintenance schedules based on seasonal growth patterns and operational priorities.

Solar Utility Technician Leaders in this job provide the first line of guidance as the working leader for technicians who perform vegetation management and site equipment PM work. Employees in this role schedule all mobile equipment routine maintenance, maintain parts inventory, monitor mobile equipment performance, diagnose problems, and make recommendations to optimize efficiency. Leader will ensure team is developed and using all processes and procedures.
