Primary Purpose
The Math Interventionist will support student achievement through the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, primarily serving Tier 2 and Tier 3 students. This position is responsible for delivering targeted math interventions, collecting and analyzing student data, and documenting interventions within Branching Minds. The Math Interventionist will also facilitate the MTSS process, support teachers with differentiation strategies, ensure Title I compliance requirements are met, and partner with parents through consistent communication regarding student progress.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
* Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (EC-6, 4-8 Math, or appropriate content area certification)
Preferred:
* 3+ years of successful math classroom teaching experience
* Demonstrated record of measurable student growth and improved academic outcomes through data-driven instruction and intervention practices
* Successful classroom student academic outcome data
* Experience with MTSS/RtI frameworks
* Experience using iReady and Branching Minds
* Experience in a Title I campus
Major Responsibilities and Duties
MTSS Implementation & Student Support
* Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 math interventions aligned to TEKS and district curriculum.
* Deliver small-group, targeted instruction using research-based strategies.
* Collaborate with teachers and campus leadership to identify students in need of intervention through universal screening and data analysis.
* Help facilitate and lead monthly MTSS meetings, ensuring agendas, documentation, and follow-up actions are completed.
* Participate actively in Student Support Team meetings and contribute data-driven recommendations for instructional adjustments.
* Monitor student response to intervention and adjust instruction based on ongoing progress monitoring data.
Assessment & Data Collection
* Analyze iReady diagnostic assessments three times per year to identify student needs and measure academic growth.
* Utilize iReady data reports to inform intervention grouping and instructional planning.
* Collect and analyze formal and informal student data, including screeners, benchmarks, classroom assessments, and progress monitoring tools.
* Maintain accurate, timely documentation of intervention plans, progress monitoring, and student outcomes within Branching Minds.
* Support campus leadership in reviewing campus-wide data trends and evaluating intervention effectiveness.
Branching Minds Leadership
* Serve as campus support for the implementation and effective use of Branching Minds within the MTSS framework.
* Ensure all Tier 2 and Tier 3 student documentation is current, complete, and compliant with district and Title I requirements.
* Provide guidance and support to teachers on entering data, creating intervention plans, and monitoring student progress within Branching Minds.
* Assist staff in maintaining fidelity of implementation for documented interventions.
Teacher Support & Differentiation
* Partner with classroom teachers to strengthen Tier 1 instruction through best practices in differentiation and scaffolding.
* Model instructional strategies that address varying student readiness levels and close learning gaps.
* Provide resources, coaching, and support to help teachers effectively support diverse learners within the general education classroom.
* Assist teachers in designing targeted small-group instruction based on iReady and classroom data.
Parent Communication & Title I Compliance
* Maintain frequent and proactive communication with parents of students receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
* Ensure required parent notification letters are sent home for all students receiving tiered supports in accordance with district and Title I guidelines.
* Provide clear explanations of student data, intervention plans, and progress updates.
* Share strategies and resources families can use to support math learning at home.
* Participate in parent conferences as needed to discuss student growth, intervention effectiveness, and next steps.
* Support campus compliance with Title I requirements related to documentation, communication, and supplemental services.
Professional Responsibilities
* Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
* Participate in professional development focused on math instruction, MTSS best practices, iReady data analysis, and Title I compliance.
* Collaborate with campus staff to promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
