Band Director

Job Description

The band director and elementary music position involves overseeing the band/music program, conducting rehearsals, and coordinating performances. Direct and manage the instrumental music and band programs at Junior High and High School campuses. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth and an opportunity participate in extracurricular band.

Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. This position is for the  school year.

• Conduct band rehearsals and performances.
• Develop and implement a curriculum for the band program.
• Manage band equipment and inventory.
• Collaborate with other music faculty and staff.
• Organize band trips and events.

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Previous experience in a band director role preferred.
• Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills. Demonstrated competency in instrumental music.

• Work may require evening and weekend hours.
• Physical demands include standing for long periods and lifting equipment. (15-44 pounds)
• Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district travel.
