Senior Pastor First Baptist Church - Festus​/Crystal

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pastor to lead our church. Candidates must have a Master of Divinity from a like-minded seminary, a proven record of leadership, unquestionable character, and a passion for teaching the Bible. As a shepherd, a love for people will be expected that is reflected in interpersonal skills, pastoral care, and leading by example. We are requiring at least 3 years of full-time Senior Pastor experience.

First Baptist is 135 years old, averages 350 in attendance, and has receipts over 1 million dollars. We have a staff that consists of an Executive Pastor, Student Pastor, and Office Manager. We have a vacancy for Worship Pastor to be filled at a later date. Our church recently voted to relocate from our current location of 100 years to our new location on 40 acres where our town is growing.

We just completed a successful building campaign to raise 3 million dollars in 3 years to build an education wing onto our existing Family Life Center at our new property. We hope to break ground in the spring of 2026. We are currently under the leadership of an Interim Pastor who is leading us in this effort and the transition to a new Senior Pastor.

The new Pastor will be expected to passionately adopt and lead this relocation & building vision.

Our Interim Pastor will work closely with the new Senior Pastor for 6 months to insure a successful transition of leadership. Salary will be commensurate with experience and generous benefits that include 100% of family medical insurance through Guidestone, 10% of salary contribution to Guidestone retirement, up to 5 weeks of vacation, and much more.
