New Home Baptist Church (“NHBC”) is a thriving, traditional, Bible‑teaching church in New Home,
Texas, a quickly growing town south of Lubbock. The church was founded in 1908 and both the church
and community have experienced rapid growth due to the booming school district. Our mission is to
teach the Word of God to spiritually grow the congregation and have a kingdom impact in our
community, young and old!
Currently, NHBC reaches approximately 100 souls each Sunday morning. Our children’s ministry on
Wednesday nights has been a huge hit bringing in over 100 kids every week. In light of our growth and
the limitations of our existing facilities, we have purchased 10 acres across from the newly built
elementary school and are currently working with architects to design a new facility. We also own two
parsonages, including a 2000+ sq ft 3/2/1 residence for a full time youth pastor.
NHBC is seeking a motivated, godly man to serve as Youth Pastor who aligns with the Baptist Faith
and Message of 2000. He should meet the pastoral qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy chapter 3 and
Titus chapter 1. The youth pastor should possess a deep love for the Lord and a commitment to the truth of
God’s Word, and be able to disciple and relate well with young people. We desire a leader who is
enthusiastic about being part of our community and supporting our youth in all areas of their lives.
Responsibilities and Expectations Include:
- Lead spiritually by maintaining a consistent personal walk with God and modeling Christlikeness to students and families.
- Preach and teach the Word faithfully and clearly, with biblical integrity and cultural relevance.
- Plan and organize all youth activities and programs with a primary focus on Wednesday night youth services and Sunday school, including youth camps and special events for students in grades 7th–12th.
- Support students by attending school events such as plays, stock shows, and sporting activities, building relationships with them outside the church walls.
- Collaborate with the pastor to lead the church in unity, vision, and mission.
- Maintain effective communication with youth, parents, and the congregation.
- Provide pastoral care to students and their families through encouragement, prayer, and biblical counsel.
It is an exciting season at New Home Baptist Church and we are prayerful to recognize the man God is
calling to join our church body and help lead our youth forward.
