Roman Catholic Religious Education (RE) CoordinatorThis position assists in planning, coordinating, and administering Catholic religious education services in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, the policies of the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS), Army Regulation 165-1, and Installation Chaplain policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and administer Catholic religious education programs for children, youth, and adults.
- Recruit, train, and supervise catechists and volunteers supporting religious education programs.
- Coordinate sacramental preparation programs, including First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, RCIA, and related activities.
- Develop and publish religious education schedules, calendars, and program announcements.
- Maintain accurate records for registration, attendance, and sacramental documentation.
- Coordinate with the Catholic Chaplain, Priest, and chapel staff to support religious education activities.
- Ensure compliance with child protection, safety, and background screening requirements.
- Prepare required reports and documentation in accordance with contract and chapel requirements.
Required:
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching or instructional experience in a Catholic educational or religious setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a military religious support environment.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully complete background checks and installation access requirements.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, catechetics, or a related field.
- Experience supporting Catholic religious education programs in a military setting.
- Experience coordinating volunteers and faith formation programs.
