Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the teacher facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting student progress, addressing individual educational needs, creating a flexible safe learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress and goals.

• Develop and administer school elementary curriculum consistent with district goals.
• Promote a safe classroom environment conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate them into effective learning experiences.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, modifying instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs.
• Instruct students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters required by law.
• Continuously acquire professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, or research.
• Maintain accurate record‑keeping, grading and reporting for all student activities per district procedures and laws.
• Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication.
• Ensure student conduct aligns with school standards and policies.
• Coordinate with grade‑level staff to evaluate curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Select and requisition instructional materials, maintaining inventory records.
• Supervise students during out‑of‑classroom activities, including transportation.
• Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and central office administrators.

• Knowledge of current teaching methods, pedagogy and differentiation.
• Knowledge of elementary curriculum and concepts.
• Knowledge of data systems and analysis to create action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
• Organization and coordination skills.
• Effective communication with students and parents.
• Self‑evaluation for professional growth.
• Ability to establish cooperative relationships with colleagues.

• Certification/License: State Elementary Teacher Certification; state certification for appropriate grade level preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related discipline;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Successful prior teaching experience for appropriate grade levels is a plus.
