F. Austin State University is located only 24 miles away in nearby Nacogdoches.

The current worship attendance is 80‑100 on Sunday morning. The music style is slightly blended.

• Lead the church to discover its purpose, and guide the ministry staff, deacons, church council, committees and congregation to fulfill that purpose.
• Preach Sunday morning and evening services.
• Lead Wednesday evening Bible study.
• Visit people in hospitals and nursing homes.
• Perform weddings and funerals.
• Lead the church and its leaders in outreach and evangelistic efforts.

• Meet the Biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1‑7.
• Adhere to, abide by and lead the congregation to follow the Church Covenant according to FBC Garrison’s Constitution and Bylaws, as well as the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Undergo financial and background checks.
• Confirm legal citizenship of the United States.
