Lone Star College-Magnolia Center is a state‑of‑the‑art, full‑service satellite center located at 1280 Escondido Dr, Magnolia, TX 77354. It offers associate degrees for university transfer and workforce certifications in HVAC and Emergency Medical Services. LSC offers high‑quality, low‑cost academic transfer and career training to 90,000 students each semester.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities
:
Teach geology courses across various times and locations, create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material, maintain reports, utilize course syllabus, serve students, evaluate progress, maintain professional relationships, attend required meetings, and perform related duties.
- Teaches Geology courses at a variety of times and locations.
- Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following institutional guidelines.
- Provides student advising and communication.
- Evaluates students and informs them of progress.
- Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community.
- Attends required meetings, trainings, and orientations.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Mastery of course content.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Respect for diverse viewpoints.
- Interdisciplinary teaching experience.

Primarily sedentary; may involve light walking, standing, bending, carrying small items, or driving. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Equipment: PC workstation, calculator, phone, etc.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
- Work in climate‑controlled classroom/lab with minimal hazards.
- Hours vary by class; availability outside class instruction required.
- Master's degree in geology or earth science, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in geology or related earth sciences.
- Salary: $55.44 per contact hour.
