MDPerm is seeking a Neuro-Optometrist to provide specialized clinical services at the Intrepid Spirit Center located within Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Cavazos, Texas
. The Intrepid Spirit Centers provide interdisciplinary care to active‑duty service members experiencing traumatic brain injury (TBI), neurological conditions, and related visual and cognitive impairments
.
In this role, the Neuro-Optometrist will evaluate and treat patients with visual dysfunction resulting from neurological trauma, including issues affecting eye movements, visual processing, and binocular coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive neuro-optometric examinations
. - Diagnose visual disturbances including:
- Oculomotor dysfunction
- Visual field deficits
- Binocular vision disorders
- Develop treatment plans, including vision rehabilitation therapy
. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams treating TBI patients
. - Document patient care in MHS GENESIS
. - Provide recommendations for visual rehabilitation strategies.
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
- Completion of residency or specialized training in neuro-optometry preferred
. - Current unrestricted license in any U.S. state.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred
. - Current BLS certification
.
- Full-time
- Monday – Friday
- 40 hours per week
