The College of Fine Arts is the college of creativity at The University of Texas at Austin—home for artists, performers, designers, scholars, educators, makers, and creatives ready to change the world. The Puerto Rican Arts Initiative (PRAI) is a curatorial platform created to support and promote performance and episodic arts in Puerto Rico. This part‑time, fixed‑term position (20 hours per week, 6 months to Feb 28 2027) is based in Puerto Rico to manage on‑site operations, coordinate residents and local events, and serve as the primary point of communication for administrative affairs.
Responsibilities- Manage on‑ground curatorial and operations staff, ensuring timely task delivery and maintaining the master calendar of project activities.
- Coordinate contracting and payments for all micro‑residency projects, including processing payments in UT Austin accounting systems and negotiating with fiscal sponsors.
- Track the project budget and collaborate with College of Fine Arts staff and the dean on reporting to funding agencies.
- Arrange travel for project participants and lead the organization of local arrangements for performances, exhibitions, and other public events.
- Contract and supervise production staff fellows with support from the curatorial and UT operations staff.
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years’ experience in coordinating or managing a project.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict timelines.
- Residency in Puerto Rico and ability to travel to Austin or other programming sites as needed.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

- Experience in the arts within Puerto Rico.
$41,600 (fixed rate, pro‑rated at 20hr/week part‑time from $83,200)
Working Conditions- Residency in Puerto Rico.
- Prolonged screen time.
- Repetitive keyboard use at a workstation.
- Manual dexterity required.
