The Civil Lead Journeyman is a senior civil construction professional responsible for leading crews while actively performing journeyman‑level civil work. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The Civil Lead Journeyman acts as a key link between field crews and site supervision.

• Perform journeyman‑level civil construction work including excavation, grading, concrete, utilities, and site development
• Lead and coordinate daily activities of journeymen, apprentices, operators, and laborers
• Read, interpret, and execute work from civil drawings, plans, and specifications
• Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure quality workmanship
• Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements on site
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve construction and layout issues
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material needs with supervision
• Mentor, train, and support apprentices and junior crew members
• Conduct site inspections and ensure work meets project and company standards
• Communicate progress, issues, and scheduling needs to the Foreman or Superintendent
• Perform other job‑related duties as requested by management.

• Proven experience leading crews on civil or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and safety practices
• Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
• Valid driver’s license (commercial license an asset)
• Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
• High attention to safety, quality, and productivity
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
• Physical ability to perform hands‑on civil construction work
