Job DescriptionThe Construction Manager will oversee and manage field project representatives and construction activities for land development, municipal, and infrastructure construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This individual will assign and manage field project representatives, maintain schedules, monitor progress, assist in resolving conflicts encountered in the field and ensure documentation and proper closeout of projects. Strong communication skills, conflict resolution and field experience are essential for success in this role.
Job Functions
- Oversee and train field project representatives on their duties to observe, document and de‑conflict issues in the field.
- Monitor construction progress and communication with engineer of record, owner and governing agency.
- Review documentation of field activities, quantities, and deviations using daily inspection reports and photographs produced by field inspectors.
- Coordinate with field project representatives, contractors, engineers, and municipal agency contacts to resolve field issues.
- Review construction schedules and identify potential delays or conflicts.
- Assist with project closeout documentation, punch lists, and as‑built drawings.
- Ensure field staff are complying with company safety standard policies on all job sites.
- Recommend field adjustments on projects in construction as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or associate degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in civil, land development, or infrastructure construction inspection and/or management.
- Strong working knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inspection reporting software.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineers, field inspectors, municipal staff, construction personnel and clients.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
