• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities.
• Prepares construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
• Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
• Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
• Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
• Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Ability to prepare quantity takeoffs and scope sheets for bids.
• Perform site visits when required to gather information to prepare a cost proposal for our clients.
• Communicate with subcontractors and gain their interest in bidding on projects.
• Think critically and derive the most economical options for clients while maintaining a quality product.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Proven experience as construction estimator
• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
• Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics
• Comfortable with numbers and technology
• Excellent knowledge of estimating software
• Basic computer skills and software (Microsoft Office Software, more specifically Excel)
• Great attention to detail
• Ability to prepare quantity takeoffs and scope sheets for bids
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  
  Well‑organized, reliable, and strong work ethic
• BS/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant field
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
• Exhibit ethical practices during negotiations and dealing with owners
