Position Summary

The Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Lead oversees associates in warehousing, receiving, and shipping to meet company service and cost objectives. Associates are expected to meet performance, safety, and quality goals and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Training Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to meet customer demands.
  • Teach standard operating procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
  • Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
  • Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, stacking, picking, and staging outbound shipments, ensuring productivity and accuracy.
  • Verify all inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and accurately count products.
  • Load orders efficiently according to designated doors and trailers.
  • Process all functions according to standard operating procedures.
  • Investigate discrepancies in shipping and receiving processes.
Customer Service
  • Maintain a professional appearance and communication style.
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, email, or in person as needed.
  • Prepare required activity reports accurately for site management.
Quality Control Responsibilities
  • Use documentation to ensure products and orders are received, shipped, and picked correctly.
  • Verify quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and handle packaging, shrink‑wrapping, and labeling.
  • Process all QC functions according to SOPs.
  • Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager.
  • Participate in quality meetings.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Apply ISO standards relevant to the position, department, and company.
  • Implement safety protocols and promote a safer workplace.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and assist in security.
  • Follow all SOPs, corporate and site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
Labor Management
  • Direct warehouse work team to achieve objectives.
  • Assist associates and temporary labor with productivity sheets and payroll hours.
  • Support the Operations Supervisor in maintaining a productive workforce.
  • Help establish work schedules and ensure proper job assignment and completion.
  • Ensure associates handle products according to quality procedures.
Responsibility and Authority
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Take action to prevent non‑conformities in product, process, and quality systems; record problems; recommend solutions.
  • Bring all non‑conformities immediately to the Quality Department.
Equipment Operation
  • Operate equipment such as sit‑down, stand‑up, reach trucks, sweepers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, aisle masters, and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain and report equipment problems; perform daily inspections and minor maintenance.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently following work methods; maintain active forklift certification.
