The City of Kennedale, Texas (pop. 10,233) is seeking a Municipal Court Clerk. Kennedale is located just southeast of Fort Worth. The City is seeking a Municipal Court Clerk. Under the general supervision of the Court Administrator, the Court Clerk provides quality customer service while performing general duties to support the Municipal Court operations. This role performs a wide variety of customer service activities at the court counter, by phone, regarding citations, complaints, and other Municipal Court proceedings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide assistance to the public in person and by phone regarding court procedures, case status, payments, and court settings
- Process citations, payments, dispositions, warrants, bonds, and related court records
- Maintain court dockets, issue jury summons and subpoenas, and notify defendants and attorneys of case updates
- Balance cash drawer daily and prepare required financial reports
- Perform collections activities, including payment extensions and past-due notifications
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of court files
- Conduct general clerical duties including data entry, filing, correspondence, and document processing
- Assist with special projects and report issues to the Court Administrator
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one year of clerical, cash handling, or customer service experience
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to obtain Level 1 Court Clerk Certification within 12 months
- Must qualify for and maintain Notary Public status in the State of Texas
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work accurately with attention to detail
Knowledge of basic office procedures, computer applications (Microsoft Office), and cash handling - Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow established procedures
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively with diverse populations
The starting salary for this position is $21.01/hr
