SummaryThe Administrative Associate to the Director of East Texas A&M Law Enforcement Training Academy (AMLETA) (Part-Time) at East Texas A&M University is responsible for coordination of day-to-day operations for the Academy, including scheduling, organization, data entry, record keeping, and communication at a level commensurate with standards set by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and the East Texas A&M Police Department.

Duties & Responsibilities- Communication and Correspondence
- Answer and direct phone calls from law enforcement personnel, instructors, and the public.
- Take and distribute messages, ensuring timely delivery to the Director.
- Compose, prepare, and proofread emails, memos, letters, and reports related to training curricula, student progress, and academy operations.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sensitive materials related to student records or investigations, and coordinate with other agencies.
- Scheduling and Organization
- Manage and update the Director’s calendar, scheduling meetings with instructors, law enforcement agencies, and stakeholders.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and conference calls related to curriculum development, training exercises, and disciplinary hearings.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for the Director to conferences, training sites, or other agencies.
- Maintain filing systems (paper and electronic), including student records, training materials, certifications, and accreditation documents.
- Maintain class scheduling calendars, coordinating with instructors, students, and other departments.
- Perform special analyses and project summaries, prepare and review operational and special reports, coordinate office records retention, and maintain office reference materials.
- Office Operations
- Coordinate the maintenance of office supplies and equipment; recommend process improvements or new initiatives.
- Analyze program, project, or initiatives, monitor timelines, identify issues, and adapt improvements.
- Formulate, interpret, or implement management policies or operating practices; develop administrative and technical procedures.
- Research, interpret, compile, and respond to inquiries about rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; monitor compliance.
