Financial Controller

Overview

Our client located near Whitesboro, TX, north of DFW, is seeking to hire a Controller to join their exciting business. This is a very hands-on role that will be responsible for all facets of accounting, reporting, and forecasting. The role has high exposure to ownership and is ideal for someone that enjoys developing processes and establishing the accounting and reporting functions.

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, with supporting schedules, and management reports.
• Establish and maintain internal controls.
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses.
• Coordinate and lead the budget process.
• Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.
• Serve as a liaison to external accounting firm, as well as external IT and legal providers.
• Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
• Work closely with leadership to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity.
• Development of policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10+ years  experience in accounting
• Public accounting experience is a big plus
• Family office experience is a plus
• Accrual accounting and knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Excel
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
