Tax Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kaufman, TX. This role primarily involves preparing individual tax returns and providing assistance with business tax filings. The ideal candidate will work independently and efficiently, handling a high volume of tax returns throughout the project duration.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and timely individual tax returns using Drake Tax Software.

- Assist with the preparation of business tax filings, including forms 1065, 1120, and 1120S.

- Manage a workload of 250-300+ tax returns during the contract period.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

- Work independently to meet deadlines without requiring close supervision.

- Review financial documents and data to ensure accuracy before filing.

- Address client inquiries and provide clarification on tax-related matters.

- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial information.

- Collaborate with team members when necessary to resolve complex tax issues.

Requirements - Proven experience in individual and business tax preparation.

- Proficiency in using Drake Tax Software for filing and calculations.

- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations affecting individual and business returns.

- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of tax returns.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication skills for handling client inquiries.

- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
