Wieland is hiring a Shipping Clerk
. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for supporting efficient, accurate, and timely shipment of materials to customers. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external carriers. The Shipping Clerk ensures that all shipping documentation is accurate, legal requirements are met, and customer orders are processed with a high degree of professionalism and care.

The role is located in Texas City, TX and will be fully on‑site.

Responsibilities
  • Generate shipping labels, pick lists, reports, and scheduling documentation.
  • Prepare domestic and export shipments in compliance with legal shipping requirements.
  • Track and maintain Daily Status Reports; identify and report discrepancies.
  • Schedule outgoing delivery trucks and receive incoming packages.
  • Manage and file shipping documentation, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date records.
  • Provide timely shipping status updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to calls, emails, and other correspondence.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Production, and Materials teams to align shipping activities with order commitments.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by proactively monitoring pending orders and addressing issues quickly.
  • Utilize software systems to complete order entry, shipping, and invoicing activities.
  • Enter data accurately and maintain information integrity across systems.
  • Support daily administrative tasks and reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to all facility safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Support company initiatives related to Equal Employment Opportunity and a respectful, harassment‑free workplace.

  • Successfully perform any additional tasks assigned by the Department Leader.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in administration, logistics, shipping, data entry, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with shipping processes within metal manufacturing, quality, or production environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced environments while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted hours as needed to meet shipping deadlines.
  • This is a fully onsite role in a combined office and production/warehouse environment.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, copier).
  • Occasional exposure to industrial equipment (saws, forklifts, machinery).
  • Extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer workstation.
  • Occasional walking, standing, and stair negotiation.
  • Must be able to perform duties under deadline pressures.
