Ensures hot and cold deli foods are prepared according to Company standards. Promotes customer service by taking and filling customer order requests and maintaining attractive product presentation.

• Assists deli personnel with slicing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing hot and cold deli food under supervision (18+).
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares equipment for operation and checks working order under supervision (18+).
• Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating deli products.
• Stacks pallets and sorts product into correct locations according to Company efficiency standards.
• Provides friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers and taking orders by phone and in person.
• Promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.

• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a slicer (18+).
• Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment (18+).
• Ability to safely work with objects with sharp edges such as a meat slicer, knives, and box cutters (18+).
• Ability to use non-precision and precision hand tools under supervision.
• Ability to work well with fellow team members and promote a collaborative environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Attention to potential hazards and the ability to remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices.
• Must report potential hazards to a supervisor when not immediately resolvable.

• Minimum of 16 years of age required; 18+ to operate and clean motorized equipment.
• 21+ to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
• Typically involves on-the-job training.
• Food Handler certification required.

• Continuous use of vision and ability to stand, walk, and use hands.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, or stooping.
• Pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 40 lbs continuously and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Attendance at work is required.

• Retail store setting with exposure to cold, heat, moisture, and cleaning agents.
• Occasional exposure to equipment with sharp blades or edges under supervision.
• Quiet to moderate noise level.
