** THE ROLE**:
The
** Steel Fabrication Utility Operator
** will be required to set up and operate the following equipment:  Flame Cutter, Shear, Seam Welder, Flash Welder, Plate Rolls, Flange/Angle Rolls, Rim Rolls, Tack Welder, Plasma Burner, 200 Ton Press, 400 Ton Press, All Expanders, All Punch Presses, Etc.

* CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

** To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
* Must be able to set up and operate, without assistance, a variety of fabrication machines to produce quality parts to print specifications.
* Must be positive team contributor who works well with all team members.
* Participate in training activities, both on and off site
* Document and maintain required records.
* Work safely by following all safety policies, procedures and actively participate in all site safety programs.
* Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
* Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

* QUALIFICATIONS:

*** Must have the ability to use, read and interpret tape measures, Pi tapes, squares, protractors, calipers, special pipe & layout instruments, and other measurement tools.
* Must be able to read and interpret shop orders and blueprints.
* Must be capable of using computer to clock/transfer shop orders.
* Must have the ability to train lesser qualified employees as required.
* Must maintain proper care of equipment and a neat and orderly work area.
* Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
* Must maintain quality and quantity standards,.
* Be able to follow detailed work orders, modify same through supervision or lead-person as required.
** DAY IN THE LIFE****:
** In this role, the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. The physical demands may include but are not limited to occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds, and prolonged exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
