Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse – Psychiatric supports patients participating in a detox and addiction treatment program by providing clinical monitoring, documentation, and patient support during the withdrawal and recovery process. This role helps ensure patient safety and promotes a supportive therapeutic environment while collaborating closely with the treatment team.

The detox program provides 24-hour nursing care to monitor an individual's withdrawal from alcohol and/or other drugs and alleviate symptoms. Clients receive medical and emotional support during one of the most pivotal stages of the recovery process. This role will function similarly to a school nurse schedule and will be considered part of the leadership team as the program collaborates closely with clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and report observed symptoms, reactions to treatment, and changes in patient safety status.

• Administer medications to patients as required by treatment protocols.

• Collaborate with the care team to provide health information and maintain accurate medical records.

• Respond to patient care needs and assist patients with activities of daily living.

• Promote a positive therapeutic environment for patients undergoing detox and recovery.

• Assist with patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes.

• Participate in treatment team meetings and assist with the development of care plans.

• Support program leadership by collaborating with staff and maintaining effective communication regarding patient status and care plans.

Required Experience:

• Valid and current Massachusetts licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Current CPR certification.

• Experience in clinical nursing environments.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Experience working in addiction treatment services or behavioral health programs.

• Experience supporting detox or substance use disorder treatment programs.

• Experience working in multidisciplinary care teams.
