About the roleThe Clinical Supervisor is the primary organizer, monitor, and overseer of the therapeutic functions and services provided by the therapists within their programs. The Supervisor provides clinical support, supervision, and monitoring for the therapists assigned in both our residential and acute treatment programs. Additionally, the role serves as a crucial point of contact between the Clinical Director and the main clinical staff.
The Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for program development, training of clinical staff, and maintaining professional relationships with collateral agencies.
- Provide oversight, supervision, and quality assurance of all mental health and clinical services, including record-keeping and direct services.
- Ensure that clinical services are in compliance with county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and documentation requirements as identified by regulatory agencies.
- Review treatment plans, case notes, and written correspondence to verify that such documents meet appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate team case conferences on a weekly basis to ensure coordinated treatment plans and service utilization in order to ensure the comprehensive care of patients.
- Monitor submission of initial and renewal treatment plans for quality and timeliness.
- Assign cases to therapists and paraprofessionals, as needed.
- Interact and mediate between referral sources, other agencies, and therapists as needed.
- Ensure that supervision documentation occurs and is submitted for filing.
- Ensure that all significant incidences are reported via Incident Report within 24 hours.
- Hire, train, and provide performance management feedback to employees (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Master’s degree in human services field, i.e., social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, addiction counseling, or related field.
- LICSW, LMHC, LADC1 licensing and 3‑years of experience providing clinical supervision to an interdisciplinary team in a similar substance use disorder treatment environment.
- Bilingual, Spanish preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently maintain and chart documentation in accordance with regulations.
- Knowledge of various substance use treatment modalities.
- Knowledge of issues collateral to substance use.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to recruit, train and supervise staff.
- Strong knowledge of county and state federal regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- A former patient may not be hired at the same location where they were treated until a minimum of one year has elapsed since the completion of their treatment at that location. Former patients may be considered for employment at other Casa Esperanza locations within a year after treatment. This consideration will be subject to the standard hiring process and must not compromise ethical standards, patient care, or the reputation of Casa Esperanza.
