Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer

Overview

Solidus is hiring a Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department. This is an onsite role based in Tewksbury, MA. This position requires the ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance. Candidates who are not US Citizens and require sponsorship are not eligible for hire.

The role focuses on developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures, with a background in electrical design and software programming/automation.

• Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities. These test capabilities may span multiple disciplines (Power, RF, Analog, Digital).
• Lead smaller teams of engineers, overseeing technical execution of project tasks and reporting project status (cost and schedule) to STS department leadership.
• Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Understand and meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
• Guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities with moderate support from senior engineers.
• Work effectively within a team or as an individual contributor, autonomously with limited supervision.
• Engage in personal technical growth and clearly present work products at project status meetings.
• Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging.
• Join a project team responsible for developing test solutions and architectures for multiple programs; typical applications include analog/digital, RF, High Power, and embedded software/firmware design.
• Work with test architectures that blend customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), plus custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and interface cabling/harnessing.

• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation
• 5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience in electrical engineering design and/or software automation concepts and applications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

• Electrical Engineering or demonstrated experience with electrical engineering design concepts
• Minimum 5 years of related experience excluding internships
• Experience leading technical tasks and small to mid-sized project teams; exposure to MS Project, Jira/Confluence, and EVMS
• Experience with National Instruments’ Test Stand, Lab Windows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW
• Experience with Digital, Analog, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design
• Experience with automation of commercial test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, power supplies)

Benefit selection, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary. Full benefits: $110,000 to $137,000 annually. Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision):
Up to $148,000 annually.
