CSA provides expert advice on Archaeology & Heritage, Ecology, Landscape and Master planning. With offices in Hertfordshire, Tewkesbury, Brighton, Basingstoke and Sheffield, our teams work on a wide range of projects across England. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is looking to start a career in archaeology & heritage consultancy within a friendly, supportive team of dedicated professionals.
The Role:- Prepare, or assist in the preparation of, archaeology and heritage reports, including desk-based assessments and setting assessments.
- Undertake and assist in research, including visits to sites and archives, and analysis of data using GIS.
- Asses assess the archaeology and heritage resource and identify how developers should respond to this.
You will be enthusiastic both in communicating the value of the historic environment and in seeking solutions. You will be supported by senior staff but will also be comfortable working independently following appropriate training.
About you:- A proactive attitude to problem solving and a willingness to work collaboratively.
- A good understanding of British archaeology and heritage.
- A degree in archaeology or closely related subject.
- A full driving license, and either own or have use of a car for business use, and be willing to travel and stay away overnight where necessary.
- Resilience to attend site visits which take place in variable weather conditions and potentially in remote locations with uneven terrain.
- Excellent attention to detail and proficient in written English and IT skills.
- Previous experience in archaeological fieldwork is an advantage.
- Competitive salary £27,500 – £29,500 with paid overtime
