The role:
You will be required to work both in-house reporting to the workshop manager and on customers’ sites, reporting to the services director, where you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of automation machinery and sub-assemblies (think giant Meccano).
You’ll be comfortable working from engineering drawings, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and in a timely fashion. A lot of what we do is typically bespoke to our customers and to date there’s not been an automation challenge we’ve not been able to support or that we have walked away from. Our diverse project portfolio means there’s no standard production lines or builds, which is why we only employ ‘solutioneers’.
You’ll work on single machine builds through to complete automation lines*, seeing projects through from build in our workshops through to dismantling and then assembly on the customer’s site.
Client base - We have customers across the UK and Ireland, Canada, and USA. Travel can be unpredictable due to the nature of our projects, and can involve stays overseas of up to 3 weeks at a time, which will involve weekend working (typically Saturday’s only). You can be assured though, that you’re paid travel time, overtime at 1.5x (over 40 hours), great accommodation, and living expenses while you’re away
Bonus skill but not essential - Being capable of installing control panels and making basic wiring adjustments Your skills & experience:
* Be able to interpret engineering drawings (mechanical a must, electrical a plus)
* Have sound experience of machine assembly.
* to build assemblies and sub-assemblies
* to build electrical and pneumatic systems
* using general hand tools and power tools as required
* be hard working and a great ambassador for the company
* be a team player and have a great attitude
