GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered and supporting our client in the Tewkesbury area with their recruitment. We are looking for an Engineering Shift Team Leader to join their team on a full-time, permanent, basis.

The ideal candidate will be providing support and coaching to our team of Engineers on shift; this role is shift-based, on-the-floor across our busy Production and Distribution plant in Tewkesbury.

Shift Schedule
  • Week 1: 06:00am - 14:00pm
  • Week 2: 13:45pm - 21:45pm

Salary and Hours

On offer is a salary of up to £44,740 (£20.51 - £21.51) per hour DOE, plus overtime of 1.25x hourly rate above 40 hours.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate previous experience of high-speed machinery in FMCG or a similar production environment with strong electrical fault-finding skills.

Main Duties
  • To support the Engineering Manager in delivering departmental goals
  • Effectively utilising team skills; supervising, training and mentoring staff via practical instruction
  • Coordinating and delivering planned, preventative maintenance schedules
  • The repairing and testing of electrical and mechanical plant equipment
  • Fault finding
  • Assistance with office work, paperwork and record keeping
  • Mentoring of Apprenticeship candidates where applicable
  • Deputising for the Engineering Manager
  • Holiday cover for Engineers and support staff
  • Equipment breakdown call-out on a rota basis
Desired Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of an electrical based, apprenticeship qualification
  • Experience of high-speed machinery, ideally within an FMCG industry
  • Experience of working with automated machinery
  • Ability to electrical fault find to a high standard
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • To be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • To complete tasks in a timely manner and deliver a high standard of work
  • Ability to work flexibility to cover shifts and work to tight deadlines
  • A strong communicator able to foster and maintain excellent working relationships
  • Experience of supervision and people management
