The Financial Associate (Teller/New Accounts) is responsible for providing a consistent positive and professional customer service experience demonstrating a high level of sales proficiency in person and on the phone. The role involves engaging with customers and bank personnel, fostering relationships, demonstrating strong communication skills, initiative, and a sales mentality. Duties include handling customers’ initial needs, assisting with opening new accounts, conducting routine teller transactions, cross‑selling products, and referring customers to other lines of business.

Responsibilities
  • Opening deposit accounts and ancillary deposit services
  • Processing paying and receiving transactions
  • Balancing transactions and cash, ensuring adequate audit trail
  • Uncovering customer expansion opportunities and referring them to proper associates
  • Performing account maintenance and related activities
  • Adhering to internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Meeting service standards in person and on the phone
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of retail, sales, or banking experience
  • Basic knowledge of retail products, policy, procedures, documentation and systems; proficiency in customer service, interpersonal skills, selling, cross‑selling, referral skills; strong mathematical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills preferred
Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Lifting in an office setting up to 30 lbs. may be required
