Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Personal Banker Trainee who will connect personally with customers, help them achieve financial goals, explore investment options, and provide sound financial planning advice to promote loyalty and investment returns.
In This Role, You are Expected To:- Advising customers on high‑level financial solutions from a broad array of investment and credit banking options.
- Engage customers through thoughtful financial questions to create positive experiences and deepen relationships.
- Increase customer financial confidence by providing personalized advice, answering questions, and addressing concerns; escalating matters appropriately while maintaining confidentiality.
- Act as a front‑line contact for handling customer problems.
- Maintain a professional presence in common areas in line with marketing and regulatory guidelines.
- Work with existing and prospective customers to conduct financial reviews, discuss portfolio updates, and suggest additional personalized solutions.
- Stay knowledgeable about emerging issues, evolving regulations, and industry codes of conduct, participating in process‑improvement opportunities.
- Strive to achieve and improve service‑level agreements and productivity targets.
- Ensure documents are prepared in compliance with relevant regulations and accurately reflect business intentions.
- Participate fully as a team member, help build a positive and diverse work environment, and mentor others in completing work activities.
- High school diploma and/or 1 year of relevant experience.
- Post‑secondary or undergraduate degree in a related field is an asset.
- Completion of IFIC or equivalent required.
- CFSA must be completed within 12 months if hired.
- Experience in real‑estate secured lending and/or investment is an asset.
- Sound knowledge of advanced investing and credit processes, banking solutions and concepts to provide personalized advice in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with software tools including MS Office and internet applications.
- Tactful communicator able to exchange ideas and customer information in a concise, logical manner.
- A self‑initiator with strong organizational, planning and time‑management skills.
Upon completion of the training program, you may be assigned to a position compatible with your training. You must be mobile within the assigned district and ready to relocate to any TD location within the region if required.
