Quality Manager – Aerospace CNC Machine Shop

Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing / CNC Machining

Status: US Citizen

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System (QMS) for a high‑precision aerospace CNC machine shop. This individual will oversee all quality operations, supervise a multi-disciplinary quality team, ensure compliance with key aerospace standards, and drive continuous improvement across the organization. This is a leadership role for someone with deep aerospace quality knowledge, strong technical capability, and proven experience working within AS9100/AS13100‑driven environments.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Aerospace quality experience supporting AS9100 requirements
  • AS13100 (aerospace engine supply chain) experience
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) generation and approval
  • APQP experience
  • PFMEA experience
  • NADCAP exposure in a CNC machine shop environment
  • RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) experience
  • MRB (Material Review Board) experience
  • Internal and external audit participation and support
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (policies, procedures, implementation)
  • Ability to create detailed inspection plans
  • Experience supervising quality teams:
  • Quality Engineers
  • Quality Inspectors
  • CMM programmers
  • Shop-floor quality technicians
  • Experience developing and delivering training on quality processes and procedures

Preferred Skills

  • Managing CMM programming and metrology workflows
  • Experience implementing QMS documentation structures and managing change control
  • Leading customer and third‑party audit preparation, responses, and corrective action closure
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including policies, procedures, and implementation
  • Supervise Quality Engineers, Inspectors, CMM personnel, and shop-floor quality technicians
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100
    , AS13100
    , NADCAP
    , and customer-specific requirements
  • Manage AS9102 FAI planning, execution, and documentation
  • Drive APQP and PFMEA activities for new product introduction and process changes
  • Oversee all MRB functions including disposition, containment, and documentation of nonconforming material
  • Lead RCCA investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and verified
  • Plan, support, and lead internal and external audits; manage audit findings and closures
  • Create and maintain inspection plans, measurement strategies, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and deliver training programs for QMS compliance and quality processes
  • Track and report quality performance metrics; manage CAPA activities and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support team building, cross-functional collaboration, and quality culture development
