We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care department at Ksyen Regional Hospital.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position provides and co-ordinates nursing care to assigned patients consistent with current standards of nursing practice and the clinical specialty of operating room nursing and post-anaesthetic care nursing. Nursing responsibilities include scheduled on-call responsibilities for emergency surgery and PACU assignment.

Northern Health Regional Education for Perianesthesia Critical Care (REPACC):
The NH Regional Education for Perianesthesia Critical Care Nursing uses a standardized, evidence informed on-line curriculum offered by Elsevier, called ASPAN Mosby's Orientation to Perianesthesia Nursing (MOPAN) with additional evidence informed on-line modules completed through Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO). The program begins with the Mosby's ECG Dysrhythmia Interpretation 4.0 educational course. REPACC continues with a 10-week theory portion using a blend of evidence-based online learning modules, instructor led theory, skills labs, simulation, and clinical practicum to introduce learners to perianesthesia nursing.

REPACC includes essential education courses Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Collaborative Advanced Management of Airways for Nurses (CAMAN) which provide essential and valuable knowledge and skills to prepare learners to anticipate and provide safe patient care in the perianesthesia care setting. Upon successful completion of the theory-based learning, learners are paired with a preceptor for 20 - 8 hour shifts in PACU and 8 - 12 hour shifts in the ICU.

The preceptorship will prepare nurses to provide safe and competent perianesthesia nursing care at a novice level.

• There are 6 training positions available for 2026/2027.
• Northern Health provides placement support and funding for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses for clinical placements, as required.
• Learners should expect to make a 4-6 month commitment for this education, which includes online and in-person learning.
• Additional study time, outside of scheduled hours, will be required to successfully complete the program.
• Flexibility for practicums is necessary.
• Applicants must successfully complete the education program prior to working in the department.
• Upon successful completion of the education program, Northern Health requires an eighteen (18) month return of service in a regular position in the area of nursing applicable to the education program.
• Qualified applicants will be considered first for specialty positions. If there are no qualified applicants, training lines will be awarded to unqualified applicants and training will be provided.

Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Post diploma certification in operating room techniques and procedures, or post diploma course in post-anaesthetic care nursing, CPNC (national perioperative certification) desirable OR
• Equivalent combination of education, training and recent experience in O.R. and P.A.C.U.
• Critical care skills an asset.
