Location: Antioch
We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist who operates with a full ownership mindset. This is a boots-on-the-ground role responsible for inventory accuracy, inventory communication, inventory-related projects, and operational readiness across customer accounts.
This is not a counting-only position. You will serve as the single source of truth for customer inventory, owning accuracy internally while confidently representing inventory data to customers. This role also supports equipment and facility readiness to ensure inventory accuracy, safety, and operational flow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Inventory Ownership & Accuracy- Own end-to-end responsibility for inventory accuracy across assigned customer accounts
- Plan, execute, and document cycle counts (daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc)
- Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies to root cause
- Execute and document all inventory adjustments in the WMS with proper justification
- Ensure inventory is stored in correct, logical, and pick-ready locations
- Identify recurring issues and process gaps; recommend and support corrective actions
- Partner with receiving, fulfillment, and leadership teams to prevent repeat errors
- Oversight of general receiving and put-away operations
- Serve as the inventory lead for onboarding new customer accounts
- Oversee inventory setup for new customers, including:
- SKU creation and validation
- Location strategy and slotting
- Labeling standards
- Initial receiving and baseline counts
- Lead inventory execution for new projects with existing customers (new SKUs, kitting, packaging changes, storage changes, special handling requirements)
- Support warehouse layout, slotting, and storage decisions to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee and validate receiving accuracy for inbound shipments and initial putaway
- Act as the final internal owner for inventory audits, investigations, and reconciliations
- Serve as the single point of ownership for all inventory-related customer questions, explanations, and escalations
- Communicate counts, variances, and root-cause explanations clearly, accurately, timely, and professionally
- Translate warehouse activity and system data into customer-friendly explanations
- Proactively identify and communicate inventory risks before they impact customers
- Maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach when addressing discrepancies
- Build long-term customer trust through accuracy, responsiveness, and transparency
- Inventory accuracy percentage (by account)
- Leading team to meet Receiving and Put-away daily KPI’s
- Cycle count completion rate and timeliness
- Reduction in recurring discrepancies and preventable errors
- Accuracy and documentation quality of inventory adjustments
- Location accuracy and pick-readiness
- Successful onboarding of new customers and inventory-related projects
- Equipment readiness and checklist completion rate
- Customer confidence and satisfaction related to inventory communication
- Background in inventory control, quality control, auditing, warehouse operations, or customer-facing operational roles strongly preferred
- Proven ownership mindset with high personal accountability
- Extremely detail-oriented; comfortable with math, reconciliation, and data accuracy
- Experience working in a warehouse or operational environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain numeric or technical information to non-technical audiences
- Calm, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure
- Experience with a WMS or inventory system preferred (training provided)
- You take personal responsibility for accuracy, readiness, and outcomes
- You are comfortable being accountable as the final answer
- You are hands-on and proactive in preventing problems
