Railcar Prepper

Overview

PRS Auto is hiring immediately for individuals to set up railcars for loading new automobiles at the Spring Hill, TN rail terminal. No experience is required in this entry-level position as we offer On the Job Training and will teach you everything you need to know to be successful on the job.

This is a part-time position. Starting rate is $18/hr with a rate increase after 90 days. You’ll typically work first shift, however schedules vary and you must be flexible for start and finish times. You must also be available during weekends and holidays.

• Prepare railcars for loading of new vehicles. This includes inspecting chocks (tie down devices), doors, decks, grates, and cleaning the rails with a backpack blower. Look for defects to be able to repair railcars.

All work performed on railcars is done following PRS Auto processes based on the AAR standards and guidelines. This requires bending, squatting, leaning and moving plates to span railcars together. This is an entry-level position with the opportunity for growth for individuals who are interested in a career in the rail industry. We have multiple locations throughout the country and pride ourselves on promoting qualified individuals for future advancement.

• Possess a valid Driver's License.
• Must be able to pass a 7-year background check and a drug test.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs above your head, and climb various heights (not afraid of heights).
• No GED or High School diploma is required.

You will be employed by PRS Auto and will not be an employee of the Railroad. Applicants must currently live within a 45-minute commute of Spring Hill, TN. Out of area candidates and/or those requiring relocation will NOT be considered. Safety is our #1 goal.
