Utility Route Driver

Job Summary

Utility Route Driver – drives company-owned truck over an established route to deliver, sell and service vending products, collect money from machines, record transactions, and maintain cash and product accountability. The position includes safe, timely delivery of soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items and sundries to business customers, assistance with daily opening/closing, training of new personnel, machine maintenance, display set‑up and customer service duties.

• Service a particular route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
• Assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing of the operation, and train new route service personnel.
• Drive truck to deliver such items as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items and sundries to customers’ places of business.
• Place stock on shelves or racks in vending machines, collect stale, rejected or unsold merchandise, collect money from machines and refills bill and coin changers.
• Record transactions on appropriate card and/or electronic device; accountable for cash and product.
• Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; inform regular customers of new products and/or services; listen to and resolve service complaints.
• Select items from warehouse and load truck; prepare order forms for food and pastry products.
• Perform routine maintenance on and sanitize machines.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform the job safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license and safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
• Prior vending experience is preferred.

823 Washington Street, Newbern, Tennessee 38059.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday. Pay: $23.75 to $50.00 per hour.
