Lead Cable Technician – Nashville, TN

On-Site | Full-Time | Long-Term Project Work

TEKsystems is actively hiring Lead Cable Technicians on behalf of our client for long-term commercial construction work throughout the Nashville area. 🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing
  • Install cable pathways (tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, etc.)
  • Pull, install, and terminate Cat6/Cat6+ and fiber optic cable
  • Terminate faceplates, jacks, patch cords, and related hardware
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and job plans
  • Run jobs independently, solve issues on-site, and communicate progress to leads
  • Oversee and guide assigned helpers
  • Provide professional customer service on active job sites
✔️ Must-Have Skills
  • 5+ years experience installing voice/data cabling
  • Strong knowledge of Cat6/Cat6+, structured cabling, and low voltage systems
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Experience leading helpers or small crews
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
✨ Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience installing CCTV, cameras, or access control systems
  • Electrical or general construction background
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used on job sites
🧰 Work Environment
  • Commercial new construction job sites
  • Indoor/outdoor conditions (hot/cold environments)
  • Required PPE: pants, sleeved shirt, boots
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM
  • Jobs will vary across Nashville; reporting location may shift based on the project schedule

This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
