JOB DESCRIPTION
LPS Equipment & Acquisition LLC is looking to hire a Mechanic to perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks on our trucking fleet and trailers. While we prefer someone who has a certificate or technical training in mechanics and truck repair, we are willing to work with any mechanical professional that has knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems.
Welding or fabrication experience is also a plus, as these techniques often come in handy when making repairs on trailers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailersPerform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailersTest equipment and systems for performancePerform repairs to brakes and electrical systemsDocument repairsTroubleshooting skillsUse DOT inspections to check tractors, trailers, and other vehicles for safety and complianceReplace parts, valves, bearings and gears as neededPerform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle runningQualifications and Requirements
Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferredExperience with various hand toolsValid driver's licensePhysical strength and staminaWelding or fabrication experience (preferred)High school diploma or GED certificateClass A CDL preferredMust be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spacesThree years of experience working as a mechanic required, four years preferredCritical thinking, analysis, and evaluation abilitiesLPS Equipment & Acquisition Co. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
